Volunteer with
Mountain Tops

Mountain Tops is a Pacific Peaks program dedicated to fitness for adults with developmental disabilities!

Volunteering with Mountain Tops allows giving and receiving joy! It's a chance to learn from and support our neurodivergent community members!

Becoming A Volunteer

Step 1

Fill out the form below to schedule a brief chat with Kiley. I will tell you more about our classes, how volunteers make our program exciting and safe, and answer any questions you might have. After we talk, I will email you our new volunteer packet.

Step 2

In the new volunteer packet, you will receive an infographic with some more information and tips to help encourage and support our athletes. You will also see a volunteer code of conduct and background check forms. The process does not take long and Camas Parks and Recreation will pay for the fee associated.

Step 3

Come to class when you're available! You can volunteer Tuesdays for Lodge workouts, Thursday for walking days, or both! We are so grateful for our volunteers each week; this program would not be possible without their kindness, encouragement, and support.

volunteer FAQs

When is Mountain Tops?

Mountain Tops is every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. We kindly ask volunteers to come five to ten minutes before class starts.

Where is Mountain Tops?

Classes are held at the Lacamas Lake Lodge located at 227 NE Lake Road, Camas, Washington.

Is Experience Required?

You do not need any prior experience working with people who are neurodivergent or leading fitness classes! We simply ask that you have a passion for inclusion and working with folks who have developmental disabilities and come to class ready to have a good time!

What are Classes Like?

Tuesday and Thursday classes share similarities, but look a little different. Both days start with a full group warm-up, move into our main activity then finish with cool-down stretches, and of course our group cheer! On Tuesdays, the main activity is a workout in the lodge. On Thursdays, we go on a group walk on the Lacamas Lake trail!

Your role as a volunteer is to provide help when it's needed! Some athletes need guidance through the exercises, where you may need to demonstrate a move. Other times, you may be an encouraging voice to an athlete! As a volunteer, your roles will change depending on the athletes you're working with. No matter what, you'll be a guide in growing each athlete's fitness and energy levels!
